What Is Diversion?

Diversion is a nationally recognized best practice. It is cost effective, trauma reducing and designed to help families explore safe, practical solutions to avoid eviction, homelessness, or the need to enter shelter.

Through compassionate conversations, individualized planning, and case management our team works with families by:

• Identifying a safe temporary place to stay
• Reconnecting with family members or other supportive people
• Communicating with landlords or property managers
• Connecting with community resources and housing programs
• Addressing transportation or other immediate barriers
• Creating a plan for longer term housing stability

Housing Stability / Rental assistance for graduate families…

Family Promise may provide limited rental assistance to eligible families who have previously graduated from one of our programs and are participating in our Graduate Program “Connections”.

This support is part of our ongoing stabilization services and is intended to help graduate families maintain the housing stability they worked so hard to achieve. Assistance is based on eligibility, available funding, and each family’s individual circumstances.

Family Promise does not provide general rental or eviction assistance to families who have not participated in one of our programs.
