PetSmart “Gives Back” Video
Family Promise started a relationship with PetSmart back in August of 2012. They have been very generous and amazing to work with. Family Promise for Pets started with the help of PetSmart. This video was just recently produced and will be shown nationwide to their employees. It shows the charities that PetSmart Inc. supports year-round…and you can see Family Promise featured in it! Enjoy!
Family Promise Gets National Attention
The unprecedented surge of homeless families across the country caught national attention this week. Rock Center with Brian Williams covered this story on November 29th where reporter Anne Curry traveled to Tennessee to visit a Family Promise affiliate and meet a very special family living in their shelter. With so many families in need, spreading the word is vital to putting an end to family homelessness. Check out the segment below and share it with your friends, lets keep up the hard work and give every family a safe place to sleep!

How Was Your Thanksgiving?
Here at Family Promise we are thankful for a lot.
Family Promise has many partners in the community and around the United States that help families in the program gain employment, housing, and hope beyond what they thought they could find. Family Promise is also thankful for the local news coverage that spreads the mission and compassion of the work Family Promise does. Working Poor Tax Credit 2012
Did you know that Family Promise of Greater Phoenix qualifies for Arizona’s Working Poor Tax Credit? The Working Poor Tax Credit is crucial to Family Promise’s expansion, in order to add a second rotation of families, doubling the number of homeless families we serve we have to reach our tax credit goal! We were able to meet our fundraising goal at Cardboard City last month… let’s keep the ball rolling and pass our Working Poor Tax Credit Goal!
So far 32 generous donors have given their Working Poor Tax Credit to Family Promise totaling more than $8,000! Will you please help our families and give your Working Poor Tax Credit to Family Promise?
It’s so easy, and it doesn’t cost you a dime! You get every dollar you donate (up to $200 for an individual or $400 for couples filing jointly) back as a tax credit as long as you give by December 31 and you can give this in addition to the public school and private school tax credit. You can learn more about Arizona’s Working Poor Tax Credit and how to give to Family Promise here.

Pet Promise-Ground Breaking Ceremony
August 13, 2012 was a very exciting day here at Family Promise. We literally broke ground on a new program and new initiative to save families with pets, thanks to the generosity of PetSmart Inc. The Mayor of Scottsdale, Jim Lane, and Congressman David Schweikert with his dog, Charlie, were all in attendance. They both truly spoke to the core of this project, to serve a population that is not yet helped in this community.
Family Promise can not thank PetSmart Inc. enough for their time and energy that is being put into this program. You can see quick video of the highlights of the ceremony here. If you ask, how can I help? You can donate your Working Poor Tax Credit here and get a tax credit back dollar for dollar. One $400 Working Poor Tax Credit can provide 10 days of shelter for a family including that family’s pet(s)!

Foster Family Found for Dog!
Last Friday, Family Promise welcomed a new family into the program…only one problem, they had a dog. The dog is not just a dog, but a family member to them and they couldn’t find a place for her to go while in our program. They needed help fast, because if there wasn’t a solution found, George, father of the family, would have to sleep in the car with their dog, Cowgirl. The staff could visibly see how attached the family was to this dog who has been with them through thick and thin.
