What is the Working Poor Tax Credit?

December 8, 2011 @ 11:43 am posted by admin

The Working Poor Tax Credit is….FREE! For those of you who have never heard of it, it is similar to the school tax credit AND you can do both. If you itemize deductions you get your donation back dollar for dollar and you help families in the process. $400 for couples filing jointly and $200 for those filing individually. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Make your donation by donating online or sending in a check.

Step 2: You will receive a receipt immediately and a form 321 in January from Family Promise.

Step 3: Sign form 321 and include it with your other 2011 tax information for your tax preparer.

Step 4: We thank you for Helping end the cycle of homelessness for those less fortunate!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM FAMILY PROMISE!

We all hope you have a Charlie Brown kind of Thanksgiving. Be thankful for the friends and family around you, the roof over your head, and the food being prepared. There are many families out there that won’t have that this Thanksgiving,  keep them in mind.

Our volunteers are helping those families who do come into our program. They will get a beautiful Thanksgiving this year…and most of all they won’t go hungry. Thank you our wonderful volunteers and churches, we love you all!
