What is the Working Poor Tax Credit?
The Working Poor Tax Credit is….FREE! For those of you who have never heard of it, it is similar to the school tax credit AND you can do both. If you itemize deductions you get your donation back dollar for dollar and you help families in the process. $400 for couples filing jointly and $200 for those filing individually. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Make your donation by donating online or sending in a check.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM FAMILY PROMISE!
We all hope you have a Charlie Brown kind of Thanksgiving. Be thankful for the friends and family around you, the roof over your head, and the food being prepared. There are many families out there that won’t have that this Thanksgiving, keep them in mind.
Our volunteers are helping those families who do come into our program. They will get a beautiful Thanksgiving this year…and most of all they won’t go hungry. Thank you our wonderful volunteers and churches, we love you all!
100k Homes Campaign
This video is amazing. It includes some individuals from Phoenix who were found by a street by street homeless count. 50 individuals were placed into permanent housing in Az. This year, Project H3 Vets is counting Homeless Veterans. Our staff has been out on the streets of Phoenix meeting and surveying homeless individuals. We have one more day left!

Interviews and Jobs oh my!
Three buses and two miles walk away John got to his interview on time. He was sporting a borrowed tie and looked as professional as he ever has. He was determined to get a job. This one would not slip away. One hour until the bus was to arrive at Family Promise we got a call from John. “Got it! I got it!” he exclaimed out of breath. John got the warehouse job.
News spreads like wildfire around here and before we knew it, all the volunteers knew too. We wanted to say congratulations to him and his hard work. His family has been through a lot, and they coudln’t be more relieved.
Three more of our guests have interviews this week and we wish them luck!
Calling all volunteers!

Family Promise has an urgent need for a volunteer who has a little extra time…and a truck! We get many calls from locals who have furniture to donate. We can’t say no, but have no way to pick up and transport the furniture. Our Executive Director picked up beautiful beds and dressers this week and delivered them straight to a graduated family.
They had been sleeping on the floor and could not be more thankful. We could not be more thankful if you could refer someone to us who would fit this need. Please call the office at 480-659-5227 if you can help. Thank you!!
What are HeartHats??
Thanks to McCarthy, Family Promise is getting a complete rehabilitation of the laundry facilities. Before they came in we had terrible plumbing issues and even some floods. A simple thing like laundry is so important to our families and McCarthy HeartHats Foundation gets that. They are heroes and we cannot thank them enough. Visit their website to see more charities they have helped http://www.mccarthy.com/about/in-the-community/
