Your Hosting Role

Your Hosting Role

Hosting brings together your congregation’s space, volunteers, and hospitality to create a welcoming environment for families.

What To Expect

Planning & Preparation
Family Promise works with your congregation before the hosting week to help prepare the space, organize volunteers, and answer questions.

Time & Transportation
Family Promise provides transportation for families each day. Families are picked up from the Day Centers around 5:30 PM and transported to the host congregation. The following morning, families are picked up from the congregation around 5:30 AM and transported back to the Day Centers.

A Typical Evening
Evenings include dinner and time for homework, conversation, activities, and relaxation before families settle in for the night.

Volunteer Support
Volunteers participate in different roles and shifts throughout the week, helping with meals, evening hospitality, overnight presence, setup, and cleanup.

Guidance from Family Promise
Our team provides information and support before and throughout the hosting week, so your congregation has someone to turn to with questions.
