Open your doors. Help a family move forward.
Host congregations are part of our interfaith network of faith communities supporting local families. During a scheduled hosting week, congregations provide overnight accommodations, meals, and hospitality at their facilities.
A classroom, meeting room, or other available space can become a place where a family feels safe and welcomed during a difficult time.
What Is a Host Congregation?
Your congregation can offer families experiencing homelessness a safe place to rest, a warm meal, and a welcoming community. By partnering with Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, you help children and parents stay together while they work toward stable housing.
How Hosting Works
Congregations typically host families for one week at a time, three to four times each year. Families arrive in the evening and return to a Family Promise Day Center in the early morning. Family Promise provides transportation between the congregation and Day Center.
During the day, families have access to case management and resources that support employment, financial stability, and their housing goals. Congregation volunteers provide the meals, overnight hospitality, and personal connections that help families feel supported along the way.
