For several years, Family Promise has staged three signature events annually to highlight our mission and raise funds to support our work. We are always looking for volunteers to be involved at any level, whatever time and resources you can provide.
Annual Gala — A one-of-a-kind dinner, live and silent auctions and a special program highlighting Family Promise clients. Held in late winter or spring. Opportunities include auction organization, contacting potential sponsors for support or donations, program planning and setup.
Cardboard City (and Festival) — Staged in the fall to call attention to the challenges facing homeless families. Held for the past several years at Scottsdale Stadium. Attendees build and decorate shelters from cardboard boxes and stay overnight. They also assemble thousands of “hygiene kits” with basics like soap, toothpaste and washcloths. The kits are distributed to homeless individuals and families around the Valley. Plans in the next year call for a greater emphasis on music. Opportunities include contacting potential sponsors, contacting youth and other groups to participate, planning and running group activities.
Annual Golf Tournament — Held in the fall to raise funds and highlight our cause to duffers of all talent levels. Opportunities include contacting potential sponsors and players, planning, organizing and operating the event.
